COSHH - Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health

 It means 'Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health' Regulations 1994, published by the Health

and Safety Executive (HSE), UK. It is a guideline, not compulsory but helpful. Its compliance requires -

1. Assessing the risks to health arising from the work.

2. Deciding what precautions are needed.

3. Preventing or controlling exposures.

4. Ensuring that control measures are used and maintained.

5. Monitoring exposures of workers to hazardous substances and carrying out appropriate

health surveillance, and

6. Ensuring that employees are properly informed, trained and supervised.
